Hold The Bus

Set on a working farm with a panoramic view of the Lammermuir Hills in the beautiful country side of East Lothian, this luxury accommodation isn’t your typical bus ride

A unique venture from Sandy Stuart and his family based on a farm near Haddington, East Lothian set of in 2016 when they decided to turn two buses saved from the scrap heap into luxury ‘glamping’ accommodation. Being the only ones of their kind in the UK this accommodation really is a must do for those that enjoy a break from the city. These busses are more glam than your conventional glamping accommodation however. Each bus was converted by Sandy's brother in-law Jason, a very talented bespoke joiner who runs his own company Good With Wood. Each boasting a complete living area, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. No expense or thought has been spared when designing the conversion. Details such as glass being added above the beds to enable guests to sleep beneath the stars and your own private wood fired hot tub on private decking really add to the sense of luxury. With rainfall showerheads, king size beds and a wood burning stove you would be hard pushed to find such facilities elsewhere in such a unique setting.

If the bus it’s self wasn’t enough looking out you can enjoy your morning coffee with a panoramic view of the beautiful East Lothian country side. How do you like your eggs in the morning? Poached? Scrambled? Well you can choose! From the farm’s very own pick your own egg bus. Surely there is no fresher than that! Alpacas, sheep, horses and chickens all live on the farm too and make for wonderful photo opportunities. Dotted about the farm there are other old busses waiting to be given some TLC. You might even spot a bus that you took a journey on as a child!

Whether a romantic break is what you had in mind or a family holiday with the kids, everyone will enjoy this unique experience. With a variety of activities, stunning coast line or exploring the farm you won’t have a dull moment at The Bus Stop. Offering a hearty welcome Alexander and his family will make sure you feel right at home. TC
