Scrumptious Sesame Pave

  • 500g Strong WhiteFlour
  • 300g Warm Water
  • 50mls Olive Oil
  • 7g Easy Action Yeast
  • 5g Salt
  • 50g Sesame Seeds

  1. In a large mixing bowl combine the flour, yeast, salt and sesame seeds. Then make a well in the centre, add the water and olive oil.
  2. Bring the mix together to create a dough, turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead by hand for 15 minutes until the dough becomes elastic and spongy to the touch, alternatively kneed in a mixer with a dough hook attached for 10 minutes.
  3. Leave in large bowl covered with a damp tea towel to prove in a warm area for 1-2 hours until doubled in volume.
  4. Turn out into a lightly floured surface and divide into 2 then roll into round balls. Leave to prove for a further half hour.
  5. Bake at 210oC for 20 minutes.

To Serve
The loafs are ready when golden crust has formed and a hollow sound is produced when the base is tapped. Leave to cool on a wire rack then enjoy with our smoked Ham Hoch Terrine.
