Once Upon a Time...

Inspired by her own fairy tale wedding, Steph Lindsay, founder of Pretty Rustic Events, is now in the business of helping other brides create their “happily ever after” ...with just a sprinkling of rustic charm!

When it came to planning her own wedding in July 2017, a big white marquee and crisp white linen were a million miles from Steph’s vision for their big day. You wouldn’t find shiny silver candelabras and scatter crystals on this bride’s Pinterest boards. As an experienced crafter and with a limited budget, Steph wasn’t at all phased by the prospect of a “DIY” wedding. In fact, she saw it as the perfect opportunity ensure that their day would be EXACTLY as they wanted it - rustic, unique, intimate and embellished with artistic flair.

Growing up among the rolling hills of the Scottish Borders, Steph has an inert love of all things natural when it comes to design and this is very much present in her wedding decor. From old pallets to oak barrel lids and reclaimed slate, she loves nothing more than finding discarded materials and bringing them to life while, of course, preserving their rustic beauty. Their dreams of an intimate, beautiful outdoor ceremony were realised on the banks of the river tweed at the foot of Lowood bridge. Loved ones seated on hay bales, a stunning archway of natural foliage and the aisle lined with lace kissing balls on shepherd’s crooks, their wedding was the picture of rustic simplicity. The fairy tale continued at the recently renovated Clovenfords Hotel. Their shabby chic style decor married perfectly with Steph’s vision and their bright and airy conservatory is the perfect space for an intimate celebration. Born of her love of creating, and in response to overwhelming demand, Pretty Rustic Events soon became a reality and they are now helping couples to plan their own big day or special occasion. Pretty Rustic Events believe that quality, bespoke, venue decor should be affordable and unique.

They have an eclectic array of products for hire and can also offer a venue dressing service, providing peace of mind for your big day. They can create personalised welcome boards, table plans and other signage designed to reflect your style or theme. All items can be hired individually or as part of a tailor-made package and they can cater for up to 100 guests.

Furthermore they love a creative challenge. So if you have an idea but simply don’t have the time or the “know how” to bring it to life yourself, Pretty Rustic could be just the company you need to make it happen! TC
